Hydrogen is the first element of the periodic table with atomic mass(A) = 1.008 and atomic number(Z) = 1. It exists in the molecular state of H2 molecule as a gas. Hydrogen is a non-metal but contrary to its physical classification it's placed on the left side of the periodic table above the alkali metals group. The universe was believed to start off with about 92% hydrogen.
